The plant’s operational principles are founded in environmental protection, using renewable energy sources to run. The plant also has powerful treatment equipment in place which also facilitates efficient production.
Cogeneration, at its core, is one of the most efficient and environmentally friendly processes for electricity generation. The view worldwide is that, by having a cogeneration scheme in place, an energy producer demonstrates its responsible attitude to the environment, which has a decisive influence in maintaining its favourable perception in the business world and in the eyes of customers.
Company management undertakes to continually improve the ecological situation within its sphere of influence, i.e. on its premises, with clients, along the routes followed by company transport, and at raw materials storage and waste management sites.
The management’s mission in terms of environmental management:
– organising continuous monitoring of Latvian and European environmental legislation, enabling flexible responses to any changes and timely adjustment of Company operations;
– organising environmental controls, monitoring and audit of the Company’s ecological risk factors;
– devising measures to manage the environmental situation during and following cases of emergency, ensuring readiness to implement the measures;
– accomplishing greater coordination with partners for the purposes of environmental protection.
Company management intends to accomplish these goals by effectively applying, and continuously improving, its environmental management system according to ISO 14001:2015.
